What is Program Finder?
Program Finder is a simple, yet powerful tool designed to connect high school students with Career Education programs offered at local community colleges in San Diego & Imperial Counties. The easy-to-use tool enables students and their parents to browse all industry sectors and find programs that match their interests. The Program Finder also provides community colleges with high school pathway information for outreach and collaboration.
Help students explore career options and teach them the professional skills needed to be successful in today’s labor market!
Applied and work-based learning (WBL) allows students to apply classroom content in professional settings while gaining real-world experience. WBL exists on a continuum that reflects the progress of experiences from awareness-building to training. Students often cycle back through the continuum many times throughout their educational career. Educators play a critical role in ensuring these experiences are embedded into curriculum and support learning.
Integrate WBL activities into your classes to connect your students’ academic learning with real-world experiences through:
– industry classroom speakers
– college program highlight tours
– industry tours
– multi-program large scale college events
– professional development for educators
– assist schools to incorporate sector labor market information in their parent outreach efforts
