Orientation Programs: CAS Contextual Statement and Standards and Guidelines

This document comprises two sections. The first offers a brief statement reflecting on the history and utility of orientation programs in higher education. This sets the stage for the latter section, which provides a mission statement for orientation programs and a lists of standards and guidelines for (1) programs, (2) organization and leadership, (3) human resources, (4) ethics, law, policy, and governance, (5) diversity, equity, and access, (6) internal and external relations, (7) financial resources, (8) technology, facilities and equipment, and (9) assessment.
