Agriculture, Water and Environmental Technology Mid-Winter Institute

The California Agriculture Teachers Association in partnership with the Agriculture Water and Environmental Technology Sector invite you to the annual Mid-Winter Institute; a professional conference for educators and administrators in Post-Secondary education.
This year’s conference is in San Diego at the Omni Hotel. Tour highlights include a behind-the-scenes look at the San Diego Safari Park hospital and conservancy and the San Diego Zoo Animal Training Division as well as Hunter Industries, a global manufacturer of irrigation products situated on a 20 acre campus that employs 1500 people! We will also hear from the Center for Food Integrity and US Border Security Ag Specialists.

Registration: $100 (includes lodging at Omni and conference meals)

On Thursday there are two opportunities in irrigation. There will be a curriculum meeting on developing model curriculum in landscape irrigation certificates, there has already been several meetings related to this topic and the committee will be finalizing the certificates.
There will also be a train the trainer event, for those interested in being certified to teach a Qualified Water Efficient Landscaper course and certify students. If there are not 15 participants this event will be cancelled.
